Cops Search For Michael Jackson’s Doctor As Coroner Begins Autopsy
Michael Jackson’s body was flown from the UCLA Medical Center to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office last night, and the autopsy is currently underway.
Dr. Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaren, who was also the star witness in the O.J. Simpson trial is performing the pathological examination.
Meanwhile, homicide detectives have opened up an investigation into Michael’s death, and are currently searching for the star’s personal doctor Dr. Conrad Robert Murray. The physician, who reportedly lived at Michael’s home and personally treated him, has been missing since last night. His BMW, which he left at the home, has been towed by law enforcement. One officer told reporters that the doctor was the one who gave Michael the injection - rumored to be Demerol - before his death.
Update: Michael’s lawyer Brian Oxman has released a statement saying that authorities have “seized bags of prescription drugs” from Michael’s home. He did not give specifics on what drugs were found.
Update #2: Dr. Conrad Robert Murray has reportedly been found. He’s now back in L.A. and preparing himself for an interview with investigators.
