No Surprise: Nadya Suleman inks deal for kids to star in reality TV show
Octomom Nadya Suleman has sealed the deal to put her children to work. She has just signed an agreement for each of her 14 children to earn $250 a day to star in a reality television show. The camera-loving Suleman, has inked a deal with Eyewitness, a European production company whose TV credits include the classic Breaking Bonaduce as well as The Biggest Loser. The contracts, which are awaiting a judge’s approval, guarantee that the kids will collectively earn about $250,000 over three yearsâ"though 15 percent of their earnings will be stored in a “Coogan Trust Account,” as required by California law, which can only be accessed once the children turn 18 or become legally emancipated. No word yet on how much Nadya makes directly in this deal.
The news comes as Suleman and RadarOnline have faced allegations of labor abuses in recent months for shooting video of her children. The show is set to begin filming September 1. Just look at Jon and Kate Gosselin for some insight as to how ‘not healthy’ these shows tend to be for the families. Her kids have been seen by many as an investment for Suleman. The unemployed mother had been caring for her six other children with the help of food stamps and Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters. Suleman said previously that some of the disability money was spent on in vitro fertilizations, which was used for all 14 of her children.
