Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johannson in plans to adopt

As if starring in X-Men and mining box-office gold with Sandra Bullock in ‘The Proposal’ was not stress enough, Ryan Reynolds has now made it clear he wants to add kids to his days.

Married to the glorious example of sinuous divinity known to mere mortals as Scarlett Johansson, Ryan, 32, plans to spare this radiant lady the rare pleasures of stretch marks and upload the rug-rats by means of adoption, “My oldest brother is adopted and I have every intention of adopting at some time,” Ryan told reporters. “I couldn’t be more pro-adoption. There are plenty of kids in the world who need it.”

Ryan’s own childhood was spent in Vancouver, Canada, and sounds like great motivation for raising kids right,  “I learned to take a punch from a very early age,” he admits. “I was routinely pummeled into a fine cottage cheese.”

As for his looks, Ryan is modest, “I have my father’s face and body, but my mother’s thirst for knowledge,” he admits. “She’s been a student her whole life. She still goes to university and she’s in her 60s.”

Ryan and Scarlett were joined in their bond in a small, private ceremony at a Canadian wilderness retreat on September 27 last year, but 24-year old Scarlett â€" now busy shooting on ‘Iron Man II’ â€" has made it quite clear she has no plans to play mom, “I’m not pregnant, nor will I be any time soon.” she told ‘Harper’s a few weeks ago.
